About me

Hello! My name is Amber Wang, and I'm currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in Product Design at ArtCenter College of Design. I am passionate about developing innovative hardware products, with a particular focus on technological devices and home goods design. My overarching goal is to create human-centered designs that are not only highly functional but also enhance the user experience in meaningful ways.

I've always been fascinated by technology, especially robotics and related devices. To pursue this passion effectively, I began learning computer programming after establishing a solid foundation in product design principles. I now possess a working proficiency in both Python and JavaScript and am actively learning Arduino. I am eager to integrate these coding skills into my design process, enabling me to develop and prototype functional product models through 3D printing that are truly usable. I plan to continue expanding my designs in this direction in the future.

Before focusing on Product Design, I studied Environmental Design at ArtCenter. This background has profoundly shaped my design philosophy, fostering a deep appreciation for the harmonious relationship between products and their surrounding environment. It also honed my modeling and rendering skills, allowing me to translate my ideas into clear, precise, and compelling visualizations.

Alongside my interests in hardware and home goods, I also have a strong passion for jewelry design. I explored this field extensively during my time at Interlochen Arts Academy, earning multiple awards and showcasing my work. This experience has enriched my design perspective, adding a touch of elegance and intricate detailing to my projects.
